our_bbcsherlockI think this fic was posted before the second series came out in the UK, but as it revolves around Reichenbach, and John tries to harm himself, I'm putting what I remember under a cut.
It was three chapters. John goes about his life after Sherlock falls, and he gives it a certain amount of time -- I think it's a year -- before he gives up. He's said his goodbyes, had a last meal at Angelo's, and then goes home to his flat (not Baker Street) and takes a bottle of sleeping pills with a bottle of booze. He wakes the next morning in an unfamiliar bedroom with nothing more than a hangover. Mycroft informs John that each pill had a minuscule amount of the drug in them, which is how he survived the suicide attempt. Mycroft also tells John that a body was found that morning in John's burned down flat, and John is officially dead. It ends with Sherlock coming into the room after Mycroft leaves and a fair bit of S/J snogging. Very angsty, but with a happy ending.
I know I saved the URL for this fic because I was able to come back and read it a few times, but now I can't find it. I might have mistakenly labeled it as trash instead of putting it in its proper folder in my e-mail, or I might have binned it if the author took it down. I'm hoping it's the former.
