I know I've rec'd at least the majority of this series before now, but there has been more, little things filling in the gaps and the whole series is just wonderful and amazing. It is on my list of favorite Sherlock fics. The AU universe it lives in could actually fit inside the universe the show has given us. Basic premise is John used to be in a band. Sherlock finds out. Band shenanigans ensue. The voices for everyone, even minor characters, are perfect.

This is seriously the kind of thing I just don't go for, but instead of being crack or PWP or silly, it's actually got angst and fun and nice character development. Two thumbs up!

If you liked that, you might enjoy JessamyGriffith's Westmoreland (http://archiveofourown.org/works/291373/chapters/466130)?. It is darker in tone than the AU above (I suspect as I haven't read that AU yet-thanks for the rec!) and weaves in British folklore. It is a WIP that is slowly updated, but JG promises it will be finished. Excellent atmosphere and a wonderful John (we haven't met Sherlock yet).
