More Series 3 spoilers

Under the cut are various spoilers (casting, set pics, scene descriptions) I've come across on tumblr over the last couple of days. Please keep in mind to take these with a big old grain of salt as things on the internet aren't always as they appear to be. Also, if you post spoilers, make sure you use the regular LJ cut and not the spoiler cut as the spoiler cut does NOT work with this layout and will show everything you're trying to cut.



I'm not usually a huge spoiler person, but I have an old browser and can't filter spoilers on tumblr, so I'm seeing everything. Figured people would be interested in this stuff.

Anderson (Jonathan Aris) returns for Series 3 while Donovan (Vinette Robinson) will not be as she's currently shooting a pilot new series here in the States. To be quite honest, I'm a bit saddened to hear about Donovan because I personally feel her character was right in what she did at the end of series 2 . After all, Moriarty was the one leaving the clues and only a really crappy detective would think someone other than Sherlock was responsible. I would have liked to see how her character handled his return. Ah, well.


And this is actually confirmed.

That leads me to believe the things in an earlier link are probably semi-accurate.

Thank you so much for posting these! I missed all of this and it's great to have it in one place. So excited to see BC in full Sherlock costume - even the coat! And the hair!

I'm not happy about Donovan not being back for the first one, but I sure hope they can get her back for subsequent episodes. A US pilot only takes 3-4 weeks to shoot, then she's free, should be plenty of time to come back. I'd like to see how they wrap up her story in Sherlock.

This is awesome, well, except for that atrocious 'stache on John! And how cool that Amanda seems to be Mary -- a good match if ever there was one.

Curious about the Belstaff coat comment -- wasn't Sherlock wearing it in the last scene of "Fall," when he watched John from afar in the cemetery? I mean, it's not like they would have buried him in it if he had died.

Also on the coat, something I've been wanting to ask: is that red buttonhole a signature of the brand? Because on this season's Top Gear, Richard Hammond has been wearing a jacket/blazer with a single red buttonhole on the lapel, so I'm wondering if it's the same brand.

Maybe it could have been blood-splattered? I have no idea.

Not sure if it is in all of the coats, but I do know they originally bought the coat with the red buttonholes, then the company no longer made them and they had to add the red to the buttonholes of 2 more coats as backups in case something happened to the good one.

Well, as a canon fan, may I say HELLO Watson moustache. I've been waiting for it since day one; but mine is clearly a minority view.

I'm happy he has the mustache. I just don't think Martin Freeman is a mustache kind of guy. It looks weird on his face.

Although I don't agree with you about Donovan's reaction to Moriarty's scheme, I'm still sad to see her leave, as I, just like you, would have loved to see her reaction to Sherlock's return.
