here's the PBS promo for Sherlock Series 2

eh... Why didn't they use any of the music from the show? I guess I just expected something better than this. :-/

Yeah, that was kind of weak, wasn't it? I can't see that pulling in too many viewers, honestly. Guess we'll just have to spread the word via other media... like, the internetz? :)

Bit underwhelming, indeed.

It's like they're trying to make it appear zany. And Zany is not the word I'd use to describe Reichenbach, which represented most of the footage used.

What a terrible promo. It really made the show look cheesy.

Not sure why they didn't use the show's music, but it's probably a money issue over rights, although it seems like a no-brainer to negotiate rights to use the show's music in promos when you acquire it. Why they chose to use klezmer music is another issue entirely. Is klezmer the new hot cool thing the kids are hip on?

They made the dialogue and the setting dull. That took effort. Sort of an anti-trailer.

Someone needs to go back to vidding school (or at least take a look at the promo videos the BBC made for the same episodes - now those were good!). That music is so out-of-kilter with the tone of most of the clips they've used, and for that matter, there's too much infodump in the clips: too many pivotal scenes from different episodes squished together, too many voiceover lines from different scenes...it's all one big melange of nothing making sense.
