Jeremy Jahns, my favorite online movie reviewer, reviewed Sherlock Season 2.

Spoilers for all episodes and NWS

Very cool review, thanks for sharing! I respectfully disagree with his opinion on "The Hounds of Baskerville," though. While lacking Jim's fingers in the pie, it served the most excellent purpose of showcasing Sherlock's and Watson's friendship, as well as Sherlock's own vulnerability, which opens him up for the events of the next episode -- we see him as vulnerable, there's a chink in his brainiac armor that Jim can squeeze through and exploit. The consulting criminal knew it was there, but we didn't, and "Hounds" was a great way to show us.

But I'm definitely going to go see what else this dude has to say. :-)

I'm pretty sure he watched the PBS showing, I wonder if the cuts might have influenced his view on Baskerville. I don't know what was actually cut but a lot of the most revealing bits were pretty short time wise. They might have been buried.

In that case, I can't wait to get my hands on the S2 DVD's, since all I've seen so far are the PBS airings (and rewatched over and over again on the website)!

I saw The Hounds of Baskerville on DVD and I have to say I agree with what he said about it being my least favorite of the series even if I found the fireside deduction mind blowing and even though I loved Sherlock telling John he has only one friend. For me he was especially right when he said it was a let down after seeing A Scandal In Belgravia and for me it might've been doubled because I actually saw The Reichenbach Fall before I saw S2E2 because my local PBS channel was out the night Hounds aired.

My problem with Hounds was that I was looking for some creepy story with a touch of the supernatural. Not once did I get that feeling. It did have some great Sherlock and John moments and it was awesome seeing Sherlock out of his element, but I didn't feel the same fear that had Sherlock questioning himself.

Thanks so much for posting this. I had seen his review on the first season and was very curious what he thought of the second.
